Beerfloating [Beer floh-ting] -verb
1. The act of floating down a river in an inflatable raft while drinking beer in the hot sun. (
usually with many friends) Quite often cliff jumping is involved. When two people occupy a single boat it is customary for the passenger to open beers for the person rowing the boat. A small cooler may be used to carry ice, beer and food. Paddling is not required but highly recommended to prevent collisions with rocks and branches on the river shore. Hard alcohol is permitted on the river but due to an inability to properly measure alcohol while floating, it is recommended that only beer from a 12oz. or Tall Boy can is consumed. A medical phenomenon known as "I-wasn't-drunk-until-I-got-out-of-the-boatitis" is quite common on the river due to the increased sunlight exposure and lack of physical exertion. If and when a beerfloater needs to relieve themselves they may get in the water to do so. It is considered polite for all other beerfloaters to yell "PEE'ER IN THE WATER!" as loudly as possible to warn those downstream.
